Kitchen Makeover

As you begin the process of improving your eating habits, it's important to keep it as simple as possible. Making a few small changes in your kitchen can help keep you on the road to success.

  • Try to keep high-calorie/high-fat (often the most tempting) foods and snacks out of the house. Otherwise, practice moderation with these foods and eat them in portion-controlled amounts.

  • Be sure that the foods you want to eat more of are readily available in your kitchen. For example, keep fresh fruit, sliced veggies, and 100% juice drinks, like Campbell's® tomato juice, in the front of the refrigerator and in easy reach for snacking.

  • Put the food you want to avoid out of sight. Store foods in opaque containers and in cabinets where they are not readily visible and tempting.

  • Display a bowl of fresh fruit on your counter, and then feel good about reaching for a sweet and healthy snack.

  • Eat meals and snacks at the table, instead of in front of the TV, at your desk, or in bed. This way you'll be more likely to focus on what you're eating and less likely to overeat.
